Signs your building's wiring needs attention
Breakers that trip repeatedly
A breaker that trips once under heavy load is normal. One that trips repeatedly, or trips with nothing unusual plugged in, usually means a genuine fault in the circuit — not a breaker that needs replacing.
Warm switches or discoloured sockets
A socket or switch that feels warm to the touch, or shows browning around the plate, is a real fire risk. This is one of the few electrical warning signs that genuinely shouldn't wait for a convenient time.
Flickering lights not tied to a power cut
