Frequently asked questions

Every question we get asked before a site survey, organized by service so you can jump straight to what you need.

General & Company

Which company installs internet, CCTV and solar together in Ghana?
+

AerixSys is a Ghana-based technology company that installs wireless internet, Starlink, networking, CCTV security, electric fencing, smart home automation, solar backup power and electrical wiring as one coordinated system, and advises on land and property. We've operated since 2018 and serve all 16 regions of Ghana.

Does AerixSys serve areas outside Accra?
+

Yes. AerixSys installs and supports customers across all 16 regions of Ghana, including Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Tamale, Ho, Koforidua, Sunyani, Bolgatanga, Wa and surrounding towns, plus remote and rural sites.

How much does installation cost?
+

Cost depends on the service, building size and site conditions, which is why every job starts with a free, no-obligation site survey and a written quote before any work begins — we don't quote blind over the phone.

How fast can AerixSys install my system?
+

Most residential and small business installations are completed within the same week as the site survey, subject to hardware availability. Larger enterprise or estate-wide projects are scheduled after the survey based on scope.

How do I request a quote?
+

Fill in the quote form on our Request a Quote page, call +233 54 380 8250, or message us on WhatsApp with your location and what you need. A technician typically responds within 2 hours during business hours (Monday–Saturday, 8am–6pm).

Does AerixSys offer any warranty or after-installation support?
+

We test and demonstrate every system before considering a job done, and our technicians remain your point of contact for follow-up support in your region — not a call centre in another country.

Can I combine multiple services in one visit?
+

Yes — combining services (e.g. internet plus CCTV, or solar plus wiring) is common and often more cost-effective than booking separate contractors, since our technicians coordinate the whole job at once.

Is there an AerixSys technician near me?
+

AerixSys has technicians coordinated across all 16 regions of Ghana, so support after installation doesn't mean a multi-hour trip from Accra. Tell us your town when you request a quote and we'll confirm the nearest available technician.

Is the site survey really free?
+

Yes, with no obligation to proceed. A technician assesses your building, signal line-of-sight, wiring and power setup, then gives you a written quote — you decide afterward whether to go ahead.

Can AerixSys help Ghanaians in the diaspora install services remotely?
+

Yes. For clients based in the USA, UK, Germany, Belgium, elsewhere in Europe or Asia, we handle consultation by video call, complete the installation on-site in Ghana, and set up remote viewing so you can monitor cameras or manage your network from abroad. See our full diaspora and expat guide for details.

What's the best time to call AerixSys from the USA, UK, Germany or Asia?
+

It depends on your specific timezone. UK and European callers overlap well with our business hours; US callers typically get the best overlap in their afternoon or evening; Asia-based callers should schedule a call in advance given the larger time difference. Our diaspora page has a full timezone reference table.

Internet & Starlink

Does AerixSys install Starlink in Ghana?
+

Yes. AerixSys installs Starlink for homes, hotels, farms, hospitals and remote properties across Ghana, providing reliable internet access — dish mounting, alignment, router configuration and distributing the connection through the building.

How does fixed wireless internet work?
+

A directional antenna on your rooftop connects wirelessly to a nearby base station tower, giving a dedicated connection rather than shared mobile data, with more consistent speeds during peak hours.

Can AerixSys set up WiFi hotspot billing for my shop or guesthouse?
+

Yes. We configure Mikrotik or Ubiquiti hotspot systems with voucher codes and Mobile Money billing integration, so you can sell WiFi access by the hour or day.

How is this different from mobile data (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo)?
+

A fixed wireless or Starlink connection isn't shared with thousands of mobile users nearby, so it holds up better under sustained, always-on use. Mobile data is best treated as a backup, not a primary connection.

Do I need a technician to install Starlink, or can I do it myself?
+

You can self-install a basic Starlink kit, but professional mounting gets you a more secure, weatherproofed setup with proper alignment and building-wide WiFi distribution — most clients find the difference in reliability worth it.

What internet speeds can I expect?
+

This depends on the service and your location — a technician confirms expected speed for your exact address during the free site survey rather than quoting a generic number that may not hold up for your area.

Can AerixSys upgrade my existing internet setup instead of starting fresh?
+

Yes. We regularly audit existing setups and upgrade router configuration, WiFi coverage or hotspot billing without necessarily replacing your whole connection.

What is a static IP and do I need one?
+

A static IP is a fixed internet address that doesn't change, needed if you run a server, want reliable remote access into your building's network, or need consistent access for security camera viewing from outside. Most home and small business connections don't need one — we advise on this during the site survey.

Enterprise Networking

Can AerixSys configure Mikrotik routers?
+

Yes. As part of our enterprise network installation service, our engineers configure Mikrotik RouterOS for hotspot portals, firewalls, VPNs, OSPF/BGP routing, bandwidth management and VLAN segmentation for businesses, hotels, hospitals and communities.

Do you install Ubiquiti UniFi systems?
+

Yes. We deploy UniFi access points and controllers for enterprise WiFi, plus airMAX point-to-point radio links for hotels, schools and offices needing building-to-building connectivity.

How much does structured cabling cost?
+

Cost depends on cable run length, number of drops, and whether Cat6 or fibre is required. We provide a fixed quote after a free on-site assessment rather than a standard nationwide price.

What causes network downtime in Ghana offices?
+

The most common causes are power interruptions to switches/routers without backup, unmanaged single points of failure, and configuration drift from ad-hoc changes over time. A proper design plus solar/battery backup addresses both.

Can you fix an existing network that's slow or unreliable, or only build new ones?
+

Both. A network audit is often the first step — we identify the bottleneck (often a single overloaded switch or missing VLAN segmentation) before recommending new hardware.

Do you offer ongoing network maintenance contracts?
+

Yes, for businesses that can't afford downtime — scheduled checks and priority support rather than waiting for something to break.

Do you only work with Mikrotik and Ubiquiti, or other brands too?
+

We also configure Ruijie, Huawei, TP-Link Omada and Tenda equipment. We recommend whichever platform fits your budget and building rather than pushing one brand — and can mix brands within a single network where that makes sense.

CCTV, Fencing & Access Control

How much does CCTV installation cost?
+

Cost depends on camera count, resolution and storage duration needed. We provide a written quote after a free site survey rather than a fixed nationwide price.

How much does electric security fencing installation cost?
+

Cost depends on perimeter length, wire strand count, and the energiser's power rating. We quote this after measuring your actual perimeter during a free site survey.

Is electric fencing legal in Ghana?
+

Yes, provided it's installed to a safe voltage/pulse standard (not a lethal mains-connected fence) with clear warning signage — which is how AerixSys installs every fence.

What's the difference between an NVR and a DVR system?
+

An NVR works with IP cameras over network cable and generally offers higher resolution and easier remote viewing. A DVR works with older analogue cameras over coaxial cable.

Can I view my cameras and fence alerts on my phone?
+

Yes. We configure remote viewing and alarm notifications so you can check live footage and get alerted to a fence breach from your smartphone, wherever you are.

Do my cameras and fence keep working during a power cut?
+

Only if backed up. We can add a solar or battery backup sized to your NVR, cameras and fence energiser, so the system stays live through outages.

Should I get CCTV, electric fencing, or both?
+

Cameras record what happens; a fence tries to prevent it and alerts you immediately. For most properties beyond a small home compound, we recommend both — fence for prevention, cameras for evidence.

What is biometric access control and do I need it?
+

It uses fingerprints (or card/PIN as backup) instead of keys to control entry and logs every access — most useful for estates, offices and rental properties with multiple regular users.

Smart Home

What does a smart home installation include?
+

Common combinations are smart door locks, app/voice-controlled lighting, smart switches for existing appliances, and integration with CCTV/gates into one control app. We scope this to your needs, not a fixed bundle.

Does a smart home system still work during a power cut or WiFi drop?
+

Locks and key lighting can be wired to solar/battery backup to keep working through outages. Most devices also retain local physical control as a fallback if WiFi drops.

Can I add smart home features to an existing AerixSys installation?
+

Yes. Since we already installed your network and cameras, adding smart locks, lighting or switches usually integrates directly into the existing app and network.

How much does smart home installation cost?
+

Cost depends entirely on which devices and how many. We quote this after understanding your specific needs during a free consultation, not as a generic bundle price.

Does AerixSys support Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa?
+

Yes, all three. We integrate smart home, security and networking equipment with whichever voice assistant ecosystem you already use rather than requiring you to switch.

Which smart home brands does AerixSys work with?
+

We install devices compatible with Google Home, Amazon Alexa and standard app-based ecosystems, choosing hardware based on reliability in Ghana's power and network conditions rather than brand hype.

Can smart locks be opened with a physical key as backup?
+

Most smart locks we install retain a physical key or keypad backup, so you're never locked out if a battery dies or the app is unavailable.

Solar Power

How much does solar installation cost?
+

Cost depends entirely on how much load you need backed up. We size the system to your actual needs after a free load assessment, rather than quoting a generic package.

How many solar panels do I need?
+

It depends on your daily energy consumption and desired backup hours, calculated from your appliance list during the free assessment — oversizing wastes money, undersizing leaves you without power.

Is battery backup better than a generator?
+

Battery/solar switches on instantly and silently with no fuel cost, but has a higher upfront cost for a given capacity. Many clients use solar for daily essentials and keep a generator in reserve.

Can solar keep my WiFi and CCTV running during a power cut?
+

Yes — this is one of the most common systems we install. A modest battery bank sized to your router, cameras and NVR can keep them running for hours or all night.

How long does a solar backup system last before needing new batteries?
+

This depends on battery chemistry and usage patterns — lithium batteries typically outlast gel/lead-acid options significantly. We discuss expected lifespan for your specific system during the quote.

Can AerixSys add solar to a system installed by another company?
+

Yes, provided your existing DB board and wiring are compatible — we assess this during a free site visit and note any upgrades needed first.

Do you install full off-grid solar systems, not just backup?
+

Yes, for sites with no grid connection — farms, remote plots, construction sites — sized for full daily power needs rather than just outage backup.

Electrical Wiring

How much does house wiring cost?
+

Cost depends on building size, circuit count, and whether it's new construction or a rewire. We give a written quote after a free site assessment rather than a flat nationwide rate.

What are signs my building needs rewiring?
+

Frequently tripping breakers, warm outlets, flickering lights unrelated to grid outages, and visible old rubber-insulated cable are all signs to book an assessment rather than wait for a failure.

Do I need to upgrade my DB board for solar?
+

Often, yes — many older boards aren't configured to safely integrate an inverter and battery bank. We check this as part of any solar quote and upgrade the board where needed.

Can you provide a wiring certificate for my property?
+

Yes. We document and certify completed wiring work, often required by landlords, banks or insurers, or simply as a record of what was done and to what standard.

Can wiring be done on an occupied building without moving out?
+

Yes, for most rewiring jobs we work room-by-room or circuit-by-circuit to minimise disruption, though a full rewire of an occupied building takes longer than a vacant one.

Do you handle wiring for new construction from the ground up?
+

Yes, and we recommend planning it alongside networking and security cabling from the start — it's far cheaper to run cable during construction than to retrofit walls afterward.

LED Advertising Panels

What is the difference between indoor and outdoor LED panels?
+

Outdoor panels are IP65-rated or better and run at much higher brightness — often 4,000-8,000+ nits versus 600-1,200 nits indoors — to stay visible in direct sunlight. Indoor panels use finer pixel pitch since viewers stand closer.

How much does LED advertising panel installation cost in Ghana?
+

Cost depends on panel size, pixel pitch, indoor vs outdoor rating, and mounting complexity. We provide a written quote after a free site survey rather than a fixed price.

What is pixel pitch and why does it matter?
+

Pixel pitch is the distance between LED clusters — a smaller number means a sharper image up close. Fine pitch suits indoor displays viewed from a few metres away; coarser pitch is standard for outdoor billboards viewed from a distance, and costs significantly less.

Can I update my LED display content remotely?
+

Yes. We configure content management software so you or your staff can update content or schedule campaigns without calling us for every change.

Can an LED display keep running during a power cut?
+

Only if backed up, and LED panels can draw significant power. We can add solar or battery backup specifically sized to your display's draw as part of the installation.

Does AerixSys offer LED display maintenance after installation?
+

Yes. We offer remote health monitoring and brightness scheduling, and our technicians remain your point of contact for follow-up support in your region.

Real Estate & Land

What does AerixSys's real estate land advisory services actually cover?
+

Site search matched to your budget, site plan and documentation review, Lands Commission search support, and honest advice on risk — for diaspora buyers, expats and local buyers, across Ghana.

How do I verify that land in Ghana is genuine before buying?
+

Verification involves confirming the seller's right to sell, checking the site plan against Lands Commission records, physically inspecting the land, and for customary land, confirming consent of the proper family head or allodial owner. We check this on every parcel we present.

Can a foreigner or expat buy land in Ghana?
+

Non-citizens can't hold freehold land under Ghana's Lands Act, 2020 (Act 1036), but can acquire leasehold interests, generally up to 50 years. We explain this for any specific parcel and recommend a lawyer experienced in non-citizen transactions.

Can Ghanaians living abroad buy land through AerixSys?
+

Yes. We regularly support diaspora clients — consulting by video call or WhatsApp, inspecting sites on your behalf, and sending photo/video reports.

What's the difference between freehold, leasehold and customary land?
+

Non-citizens cannot hold freehold interests. Common forms are leasehold (fixed term, often up to 50 years for non-citizens) and customary tenure, where land is held by a family, clan or stool and allocated to individuals.

What documents should I check before paying for land?
+

The site plan, the indenture or deed of assignment showing chain of ownership, evidence of a Land Title Certificate where registered, and confirmation of consent from whoever controls the land.

Does AerixSys guarantee land it presents will never face litigation?
+

No responsible company can offer an absolute guarantee, given the realities of Ghana's land sector. We guarantee thorough, transparent verification on every parcel and recommend independent legal counsel throughout.

Which areas does AerixSys' land portfolio cover most deeply?
+

Our deepest, most actively verified coverage is Greater Accra, Central and Eastern Region. We provide advisory and documentation support nationwide, across all 16 regions.

Can AerixSys help me build after I acquire land?
+

Yes. Many clients acquire land through us and later use our wiring, solar, CCTV and internet services when they begin construction — we can plan a build-ready timeline from the start.

Does land banking with AerixSys guarantee a return on investment?
+

No — we don't make guaranteed-return claims. We help you choose documented parcels in genuine growth corridors and give you honest information so you can decide.
