LED Displays vs Traditional Signage: What Ghanaian Retailers Are Actually Choosing

By AerixSys Team · Field technicians and project leads · Published June 2, 2026

Since adding LED advertising panel installation to our services, the most common question we get isn't "how much" — it's "is this actually worth it over a printed banner." The honest answer is: it depends what you're using it for, and printed signage is still the right call in some situations.

Where LED genuinely wins

Anywhere your message changes regularly — daily specials, rotating promotions, event schedules — the maths favours LED quickly. A printed banner that needs reprinting every time your offer changes has an ongoing cost that a remotely-updatable LED display doesn't. For a busy retail storefront changing promotions weekly, the break-even point arrives faster than most people expect.

Where printed signage still makes more sense

A shop name, a fixed logo, or signage that genuinely won't change for years doesn't benefit from LED's flexibility — you're paying for a capability you won't use. Static, permanent branding is often still better served by well-made printed or fabricated signage.

The question we push clients to answer honestly

Before quoting an LED installation, we ask: how often do you actually expect to change this content? If the honest answer is "rarely," we say so — even though the LED quote is the bigger sale. A hotel lobby feature wall that displays different content for weddings, conferences and regular days is a strong case for LED. A permanent "Welcome to [Hotel Name]" sign usually isn't.

If you're weighing the two options for your space, that's exactly the kind of question a free site survey is for.
